Physiotherapy services for patients registered with Sennelager medical centre are delivered by Physiomed, Driburger Str. 24/d, 33100 Paderborn.

Physiomed is a large physiotherapy centre with a team of 17 physiotherapists.  The team speak good English and the practice has been running for over 30 years.  The physiotherapy team at Physiomed can provide advice and treatment for many different conditions, including sporting injuries and neurological problems.

If you feel you need a referral to the physiotherapist, please book in with your GP in the first instance.  The GP will assess your condition and discuss with our Lead Physiotherapist in SHAPE.  A referral will then be made to Physiomed if appropriate, or alternative advice will be given.

In a medical emergency, call 112 and then the hospital hotline number 0800 5889936 or 0049 521 305 3960 (from UK mobile or outside Germany). so that we can provide any support you may need.

Physiotherapy services for patients in EJSU/ISODETs

Once you have received a referral for physiotherapy from your host nation GP, it must be sent to SHAPE UK medical centre by any of the following methods:

  • Fax: 0032 6544 5016
  • Email; a scan/photograph to LLPHealthcare-SHAPE-0Gpmailbox@mod.gov.uk.
  • Post:  UK Medical Centre, Building 401, SHAPE, BFPO (Please note that if you choose to send by post it could take 2-3 weeks to arrive which will extend your waiting time for treatment.

Once the referral has been received, the UK physiotherapist will contacted you to arrange a telephone consultation for her to gain more information about your problem.  If host nation physiotherapy is approved, you will be sent a letter confirming this and stating how many sessions you are entitled to.  You will have a further telephone consultation with the UK physiotherapist towards the end of the sessions to determine whether you require further intervention or onward referral.  If more sessions are required you will be provided with a further authorisation letter confirming this.

Failure to obtain an authorisation letter prior to commencing physiotherapy treatment, or having more sessions than authorised, is likely to result in you becoming liable for the cost of the treatment.
